The 60's Are Still Alive!

Saturday, March 1, 2014

Hello! I am back with a new blog post about the 60's. I'm not sure if you all miss the 60's or don't really care for it at all, but for me, I feel that the 60's was the beginning of the fashion movement. Some of the fashion back in the 1960's are still used in the fashion industry today. I think 60's fashion are really simple and cute. Sometimes I wish I could go back into the 60's and ask the designers how they came up with these designs that are so popular even today. Anyway's I have compiled a list of the most popular 60's trends. Hope you all enjoy it!

1. Platform Shoes
These shoes were believed to be created in the 70's, but were in fact first introduced in the 60's. The most common ones were made of leather. I'm pretty sure now, the price of these shoes have gone up a lot. They kind of remind me of creepers because of the platform on the bottom of the shoe is so tall. I have always wanted to buy one of these shoes.

2. Bikinis
Back in the 60's, it was common for women to show off skin. One piece swimsuits started going out when bikinis were first introduced. I's pretty sure almost every women has at least one bikini in their wardrobe somewhere. I mean, who wouldn't want to wear a bikini during the summer at the beach?

3. Peter Pan Collars
These were very popular back in the 60's and they have made a huge comeback onto the market. I am a huge fan of collars. The peter pan collar is one of my favorite fashion piece during the 60's, and I must say that I hope these will never go out of business because I would be devastated.

4. Statement Coats
The 60's were full of fun and bright coats. I'm sure most of you would agree that statement coats complete any look. They are perfect for any occasion and this fashion piece should be in every girls wardrobe. Statement coats have been used for decades and they probably won't ever go out of style.

5. Bold Prints
Many of 60's fashions are making their way back into the market, and even bold prints are becoming popular again. The 60's were all about bright and fun colors, and bold prints became more and more popular back in the 60's. It won't be too much of a surprise seeing it back on the market and becoming a huge hit again.

That is all I have for you today, I have so much more to for you guys, but I am saving them for another day. If you all enjoyed reading this and want me to do a part 2, please comment below. I would also love to see your favorite 60's fashion pieces, so post them below as well. I hope you all have a wonderful day! I will see you all next time.
