Spring Cleaning for your Hair!

Thursday, April 17, 2014

Hello my lovely viewers! I hope you are all doing well, and I do apologize for not keeping updated as much as I would like to. I've been trying to adjust to many changes lately and It was not going so well. Anyways, enough of my life, let's talk hair shall we? I know it's spring and everyone is doing some spring cleaning, so why not with your own hair? I have compiled a few good tips on how you can make your hair look fresh and beautiful this spring and for the upcoming summer. I hope you all will find these tips helpful! Let's begin.

1. Lemon Juice for Oily Hair
If you're like me and have a serious case of oily hair, then I suggest you use lemon juice. I didn't know this until a few weeks ago when a friend told me, and guess what? I have a lemon tree so it works great since I don't have to buy my lemons. Anyway, all you need to do is rinse your hair diluted, fresh lemon juice. That way, your hair will look shiny and get rid of those greasy roots.

2. Trim Your Hair Regularly
I recommend going to a salon regularly to trim your hair to get rid of those split ends because those can cause serious damage to your hair and sometimes create annoying knots in your hair. If you are on a low budget, you can also trim it yourself. Afterwards, your hair will look more healthy and feel great!

3. Avoid Heat Styling
Refrain from using a lot of heat products on your hair because that can cause huge damage on your hair. I used to curl my hair all the time with my curling iron until I found out how much damage it could do to my hair. If you want to curl your hair without heat, there are many tutorial you can find through google or youtube. Also, another way is to buy a heat protection spray.

4. Use Bristle Brush
If you have shoulder length hair, you should consider using a bristle brush because your hair is very fragile and should not be combed or brushed unnecessarily. Soft bristles are great because they flex as you brush and are bery gentle with your hair. You can buy these anywhere like Walmart, Target, or any hair care stores. They are also not very expensive.

5. Don't Rip Out Hair Knots
Never ever rip out your hair knots because it will result in your hair breaking apart and splitting. Honestly, I always get knots in my hair and that gets really annoying so what I recommend doing is removing as much of the hair from the knot as possible and then cutting the knot. This way you can save your hair from damage although you will have a few pieces of short hair, at least it can be covered up.

Well, I hope you all enjoyed today's post and found it helpful for the spring season. I hope wasn't too short for all of you, but if you want me to do a part 2, please don't hesitate to ask.
