A Winter Workout Guide

Wednesday, December 3, 2014

Hello everyone! I am back with another winter post, but this one is for all of us who want to stay fit during the Winter. I am guilty of this, but when it's cold, I tend to stay home in my bed. So, I thought I should create this guide to help those of you who hate working out in the cold. Especially since Thanksgiving has passed and we are all probably stuffed with food and worst of all, we are probably too lazy to go out and burn those calories. I wanted to share a few ways that I like to stay fit during the winter, and hopefully it will work for you guys as well. Let's get started!

I don't know about you, but when I get home, I tend to want to stay home. So to keep myself from staying home especially when it is raining outside, I would go to the gym right after school/work so that I won't get the urge to stay home. You should plan your day ahead of time, so you can make time to go to the gym. Make sure to leave all your workout equipment in the car or carry them in a bag. I would also recommend bringing snack with you in case you get hungry during your workout.

There are a lot of Winter sports that we can all do, and it's a great way to get out of the house and have fun. Ice skating is a great sport for example. You can go with friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, and family. If you are planning to go somewhere over the weekend or for vacation that has snow, you could go snowboarding or skiing with your friends or family. It's very fun and great way to burn some calories.

If can't workout at the gym, and you are already at home most of the time, you can also do your workout at home. I'm sure there are millions of workout videos on Youtube that you can do. Although, for me, this is pretty hard for me because the moment I get home, I go straight for my bed, but what I like to do to resist the urge to get into my bed is to go to a quiet area away from all the distractions in my house and I would play music while doing stretches. Yoga is also another good routine you can do every morning and it helps you relax if you are someone who is always stressed.

Eating is a very important factor in staying fit and healthy. By eating healthy, I don't mean eating lesser. There are hundreds of recipes online that you can find that are very healthy and delicious. Not eating can be really dangerous to your body and health. I don't know about you guys, but if I don't eat, I tend to feel weak and distracted during my workouts. Make sure to eat everyday!

The most important part in working out is to always stay positive. If you are not motivated to work out, then working out will feel like a chore. Imagine how much you would be accomplishing by working out, and think about the those pair of jeans you've always wanted or that bikini that you wanted to wear during the Summer. As long as you are able to stay focused on your goals, you will do fine.

That's all for today. I hope you all found this helpful and enjoyed reading this during the cold weather. I would love to hear some ways you stay fit during the winter. Please leave them in the comments and if you have any suggestions for my next blog post, please leave them as well. Stay positive and warm! :)
