Another New Year!

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

This month has been pretty exciting for me, and I know New Year's has already passed, but I can't help but to embrace my Asian culture. As some of you may know, Lunar New Year is coming up in February, and I have been so excited. As for my lounge style series part 3, I will be sure to post that tomorrow hopefully. Anyways, I recently went to San Francisco's Japan town. I was about to go to the Japanese tea garden for my shoot, but sadly, it began pouring, and you can probably tell that it still was while I took these photos. It's good that it didn't rain too hard though. For the outfit, I wanted to wear something that was edgy yet classy. I paired a floral dress with a black coat to keep me warm while I was in S.F, and I wore my favorite fedora that you can see in many of my past blog posts. For Chinese people, red is usually considered a lucky color, and is seen a lot during the New Year's and sadly, I wasn't able to find myself a red dress, but I did think that this floral dress gave off a traditional Asian feel if that makes sense. Something about the dress gave off a traditional Chinese look with a modern twist. Also, if any of you guys are planning on coming to Japan town, I recommend buying crepes, their crepes are just too cute and irresistible! <3
The Lunar New Year is extremely important in Asian countries because it not only celebrates the beginning of a new year, but the end of Winter and the arrival of Spring. Hopefully, we will finally get some sunshine here in California. This year, the New Year begins on February 8 on the Gregorian calendar, and this year, I have teamed up with Best buys to celebrate the Lunar New Year event with an Asian inspired gift card and eGiftcard that will be available for purchase. If you happen to know anyone whose Birthday is around this time of year, but don't know what to get them, I would recommend gifting them a Best Buy eGiftcard. It's perfect for anyone who loves buying technology and it's great for anyone heading off to college soon. I hope you all enjoyed reading, and if you have any questions or comments, please leave them.
Happy Lunar New Year! :)
