Smacne review
Disclaimer - This post is sponsored by Smacne
It's definitely been a roller coaster these past few weeks with everything going on in the Bay Area, but on the bright side, I have been doing a little self care to help cope with everything that's going on. A couple of things I have been doing is taking on some new projects for both my blog and my personal lifestyle. I have started learning some new skills such as UI design which has been keeping me busy, but I am having a lot of fun learning it. It's definitely something I wish I could have done more of during college. However, it's never too late to learn a new skill. Aside from that, I have also made some major changes to my skincare routine which I am really excited to share with you all! If you guys have been following me since the early days when I started blogging, you would know that I have been struggling with acne for the longest time. I have tried multiple products that were recommended by beauty bloggers, and I have tried the pill method that was recommended by my doctor, but that didn't help. I have also tried many acne medications that had positive reviews from other users. I am always searching for new products that help combat acne. The latest product I was introduced to was Smacne and I have been using it continuously for one month, and this post will give you guys some insight and my honest review on this brand. :)

Smacne review

What is Smacne?

Smacne is a subscription based service that sends an acne treatment kit every month and each kit comes with three products to help treat your acne. They also offer a free trial if you want to try it out and aren't sure if you want to commit. Each kit comes with an Aloe Vera Exfoliating Cleanser, and the Smacne treatment. There is also an available option for a severe acne treatment. I will go more in depth on the products individually later on in this post. The team behind Smacne believes that acne treatment doesn't need to be so complicated. I remember walking into any skincare store and trying to find the perfect product to help treat my acne. I have suffered from acne ever since high school, and it has definitely affected my self confidence. I researched the different ingredients needed to treat acne and was bombarded with so much information, I had no idea where to even start. Smacne was created to combat that issue we've all had when it came to finding the right product. They incorporated all the ingredients that are needed to help treat acne. Some of the ingredients included are Aloe Vera, Glycolic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Jojoba Oil, and Tea Tree Oil. They are also cruelty free and clean which means all their ingredients are naturally sourced. They are transparent about what goes into their products and combined all the best ingredients into a two step routine and all the ingredients are clinically proven to treat acne. The goal of Smacne is to help solve the problem with acne and to provide treatment to as many people as possible.

My Thoughts On Smacne

Before I get into my experience with Smacne, I wanted to give you guys a little background on my skincare routine before using Smacne and with Smacne, both my A.M and P.M routines.

Before Smacne (A.M) - Foaming Cleanser and toner
With Smacne (A.M) - Aloe vera exfoliating cleanser, toner, and Smacne treatment

Before Smacne (P.M) - Makeup wipes, foaming cleanser, toner, moisturizer
With Smacne (P.M) - Aloe vera exfoliating cleanser, toner, vitamin c serum, Smacne treatment, and moisturizer

Before Smacne, my skincare routine was pretty inconsistent, and I would just mix and match a bunch of products that had the words "acne treatment" and I wouldn't pay much attention to what ingredients I should be using for my skin. I have oily type skin, so I found that products with a lower pH were better for my skin and oil based cleansers. I was surprised since oil was what I was trying to stay away from, but it turns out, oil based products help to control the oils on my skin. I learned a lot about what products I should be using on my skin to help fight my breakouts throughout my journey.

I have been using Smacne for one month now, and I can honestly say that I've had a good experience with it. I noticed results within two weeks of using it. I will post my before and after photos, and you can see that my acne has gone down drastically in one month. I had cystic acne and white heads, but after using the products, it has went down and healed on both my cheeks and my T-zone. My cheek has been a problem area for so long and it was refreshing to see the before and after results. I was very happy to see that the redness has gone down and it has prevented my acne from flaring up during my time of month which is usually when my acne gets really bad. My favorite things about using Smacne is that it doesn't irritate or leave a burning sensation on my skin unlike other acne creams and treatments that I've used. The treatment feels very light and is not heavily scented, so you don't get the medicated smell that you get from a lot of acne creams. The only scented product is the exfoliating cleanser which smells like Aloe, but it's not a strong scent, so if you don't like heavily scented products, Smacne would be a good choice.

What's included in the kit

Smacne Exfoliating Cleanser

Smacne review
The exfoliating cleanser helps to clean out any impurities, exfoliates your pores, and removes the oils on your skin. The cleanser contains aloe vera and has a pH level of 4. It uses AHA/BHA to help unclog the pores and remove dead skin for better treatment and hydration. I loved that this cleanser does not feel too harsh on the skin like other exfoliating cleansers. The smell wasn't too strong for me and felt very light on my skin. The cleanser is gel based and left my skin feeling very refreshed and hydrated afterwards. If I'm wearing makeup, I would go in with my oil based makeup remover before using the cleanser and follow up with toner. I definitely noticed an improvement with my skin's complexion upon using this cleanser.

Smacne Treatment

Smacne reviewThe kit also comes with an acne treatment that is oil-based and is designed to help replace the oil on your skin after it is prepped. It contains acne fighting ingredients such as salycylic acid, benozyle peroxide, and tea tree oil to attack acne from every source. The treatment helps to balance and reduce oil levels on your skin. It has a pH level of 5 which is the same pH level as your skin to help it as neutral as possible. The biggest highlight of this product for me is that it doesn't give off this strong medicated smell that is usually prominent in most acne medication creams. I also love that it doesn't leave a burning sensation or irritate me skin after using it. I have used so many acne creams and a lot of them irritated my skin and turned my skin red. You only need to apply a nickle size amount of the product all over your face and you are good to go. The product felt very light and I definitely felt a difference on my skin after applying it every morning and night for two weeks. I haven't noticed any new acne since and my cystic acne has gone down tremendously. If you are planning to go out after applying it in the morning, it's recommended that you apply sunscreen over it. For the night, I usually apply this after cleansing, toner, and serums. After I apply the treatment, I would apply moisturizer over it because the product will dry your skin overnight. The entire process is only a 5 step routine for me every night. :)

Smacne Severe Treatment (Upon Request Only)

Smacne review
If you are experiencing more severe acne, Smacne offers an option to switch to their severe treatment  I've only used this product as a spot treatment and don't use it too often, so I can't go into too much detail on it. I believe it uses the same ingredients as the normal treatment, but with higher content of each ingredient. The severe treatment works well as a spot treatment for all types of acne. It includes 10% benzoyl peroxide which helps dries acne fast and goes deep into the skin to help clear out the pores and get rid of acne-causing agents and prevents future breakouts. Similar to the normal acne treatment, it has glycolic acid and tea tree oil which helps to minimize scarring, discoloration, and restores the skin's pH levels while keeping the skin hydrated. I had a pleasant experience using this product as it wasn't too harsh on my skin and did notice positive results when applying to my cystic acne.
Final Thoughts

Overall, I highly recommend this product for anyone who is battling with acne and has tried every acne treatment on the market. Smacne is definitely worth a shot, and if you don't want to commit or want to test it out to see the results, they offer a free trial. I think Smacne is definitely worth it for the price and it has helped combat my acne. My skin has never been more clear and I feel more comfortable in my skin now. If you are interested in trying Smacne free for one month, you can go to to order your trial. I hope this review was helpful for any of you who are on the market for a new acne treatment solution. If any of you have experience with acne and would like to share your stories, please do leave them in the comments. I would love to hear about your journey! Thanks for reading this post and I will see you all on the next one! Stay safe and have a great day.
